Marketing Business Analyst

Role Description

Roundstone is searching for a data-driven individual who is passionate about leveraging data and systemic thinking to create and maintain our Marketing data architecture. From it, they will create actionable insights, drive strategic priorities, and improve performance.

The Marketing Business Analyst will employ a range of systemic and creative problem-solving techniques, from forecast modeling to trend analysis to data mining, to remove obstacles and create scalability for Marketing performance measurement and success. You’ll work closely with our CMO, Marketing colleagues, and other organizational departments to determine data requirements, availability, gaps, integration, and optimized architecture. You’ll partner with IT to operationalize and continually improve our data structure, quality, and integrity.

You will build, manage, and continue to evolve our reporting and analytics environment, tracking Marketing’s impact on the business and support marketing colleagues and executive leadership by using a variety of data systems to create and deliver effective reporting that illuminates areas of strength and areas for improvement across our Marketing activities and functions.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data architecture
    • Analyze availability, quality, and integration gaps in our current data architecture across our clients’ experience (including Marketing, Sales, and Relationship Management), identify their underlying behavior, process, and system causes.
    • Develop and recommend future state data architecture that allows us to view and optimize our customers’ full experience with us, documenting requirements including data availability, location, integration needs, and process changes necessary.
    • Collaborate with IT, CMO, colleagues in Marketing, Sales, and Relationship Management to implement required changes.
  • Data management
    • Work with colleagues in and outside of Marketing to ensure presence and quality of required customer and prospect data.


  • Reporting
    • Create and manage automated and manual reports that communicate trends and patterns using relevant data clearly and concisely with stakeholders across departments.
    • Build monthly, quarterly, and annual Marketing reports for key internal partners within and outside of Marketing using a variety of data systems to measure the impact of Marketing on the business.
    • Create one-off reports to meet ad-hoc needs, identifying underlying trends, and illuminating their causes.
    • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports integrating and communicating Marketing performance across functions, campaigns, target audiences, and channels.
Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated expert use of Excel and Power BI.
  • Strong experience in most or all the following: Pardot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, and LinkedIn Administrator.
  • Salesforce reporting experience preferred.
  • Experience with data analytics programming languages preferred.
  • Project Management and excellent organizational skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Desire to continually learn and work smarter.
  • High quick-start abilities and independent worker.
  • Ability to move between conceptual and detailed fluidly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Elevated level of follow up and follow through.
  • Comfortable with change and prefers variation in work assignment.
