POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Director develops marketing strategies and plans that drive brand building, category growth and effective communication while guiding a team through delivery. This role manages and directs the creation and execution of these strategies in collaboration with other functions to ensure alignment with the zone’s goals.

  • Develops and implements comprehensive marketing strategies that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Oversees the marketing teams, including branding, category growth team and marketing communication team, to ensure all marketing campaigns and initiatives are executed effectively and efficiently.
  • Works with the Insights team to conduct market research and distill consumer and diner insights as the basis for developing category growth and marketing communication strategies and plans. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, finance and operations, to ensure alignment and drive business growth.
  • Monitors and analyzes marketing performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Develops and manages marketing budgets and ensure all spending is within budgetary guidelines.
  • Builds strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and media outlets.
  • Attends trade shows and other industry events as a company representative to understand industry trends and build brand awareness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position involves managing multiple staff members from the Branding, Category Growth, and Marketing Communication teams. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS and EXPERIENCES

  • A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, and/or a related discipline from an accredited university/college is required, with a minimum of 10 years of marketing experience in which 5+ years are in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing for consumer packaged goods, preferably in the food industry or at a Fortune 500 CPG (consumer packaged goods) companies.
  • Experience working in multinational corporations while utilizing change management skill in a dynamic, fast-paced, innovative environment.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business goals into effective marketing strategies and analyze data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience analyzing AC Nielsen data and market research reports to draw insights.
  • Proficiency in marketing and analytics tools and technologies.
  • Must be able to define problems, apply concrete sales principles through data gathering and analysis, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge and experience in new product development, category management, and brand management.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns and communication strategies that drove business growth.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, providing guidance and direction to achieve marketing goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, multitask and meet all deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently in cross-functional teams to achieve established goals and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • The individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook). Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English to communicate clearly, accurately and with impact.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin).

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • The individual must apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probabilities and statistical inference to forecast marketing budgets, costs, and return.
