We are seeking a passionate Material Scientist to join our growing team at Superior Graphite. In this role, you will play a key role in developing and implementing analytical procedures for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) of our diverse graphite materials used in a wide range of industries, including batteries, fuel cells, polymers, and friction materials.

Superior Graphite's novel technology is a gamechanger in the emerging EV industry. In order to meet the massive increasing demand for LiB anode raw materials produced in the western world, Superior Graphite is initiating a new plant erection inside our Hopkinsville Kentucky plant complex.

Superior Graphite has been flexible to leverage existing proprietary technology in order to meet the accelerating demand for EV’s and energy storage in North American and European markets. Superior Graphite has developed a novel product to produce state of the art Anode Active Material (AAM).

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement analytical procedures for characterization of graphite materials using techniques like XRF, XRD, powder characterization methods and others.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications for raw materials and finished products.
  • Troubleshoot analytical issues and optimize existing procedures for better efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to understand material needs and translate them into effective analytical strategies.
  • Implement procedures in the manufacturing environment.
  • Document procedures and maintain clear records for future reference and training purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • PhD or master’s degree in Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with analytical techniques like XRF, XRD, and powder characterization methods.
  • Excellent understanding of material science principles and their application to real-world products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
