Materials Planner

Atco Products is located in Ferris, Texas, and is an IATF/ISO9001 Certified tubing/hose assembly manufacturer of high-quality automotive and heavy-duty truck components and assemblies. Both original equipment suppliers and aftermarket customers have relied on Atco Products to meet their OE production components and in/out of warranty service and parts requirements for more than 50 years.

Position Summary

As the materials planner, you will have the opportunity to review MRP shortage and replenishment reports, and coordinate and manage materials ramp up/down as necessary to minimize obsolescence expense.

Qualifications

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Plan and schedule, release, confirm and follow up on assigned material, components, and/or parts to ensure on-time delivery and support to the manufacturing schedules (MRP).
  • Review, determine and maintain inventory at the necessary levels to support company goals while maintaining a high level of customer service and eliminating production downtime.
  • Actively participate in the daily Materials meetings and provide timely updates on any open part issues or inventory planning.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the MRP system.
  • Proactively investigate, determine, and document the impact of proposed changes for the facility either as a result of internal engineering changes, new product development, or business acquisitions.
  • Monitor and implement bill of material (BOM) changes and new product introductions (NPI) on a timely basis.
  • Occasionally purchase indirect materials and services from suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to facilitate material procurement, flow, and storage improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and 3 years of increasing responsibility in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of MRP/ERP Systems and Processes.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Highly engaging, passionate, and hands-on individual.
  • Sound decision-making and organizational skills
  • Effective math, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Computer literate in MS Suite applications
  • Experience in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement processes a Plus
