Job Summary:
A mechanical assembler produces state-of-the art conveyor and packaging machinery by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Responsibilities Include:
Produces finished products by assembling parts and subassemblies.
Reads and deciphers schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
Positions or aligns components and parts, either manually or with hand tools or machines.
Operates Milling machine, Lathe, and other manufacturing equipment.
Mig, Stick, and or Tig welding of low volume parts and /or equipment.
Conducts quality control checks.
Onsite measurement for product configuration prior to installation.
Assembly pneumatic circuits from drawing or schematic.
Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists, gathering parts and subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and subassemblies.
Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
2+ years building maintenance experience.
2+ years electrical experience
Professionalism and Leadership skills
Mechanical Aptitude including the ability to understand measurements of fractions, metric and standard.
The ability to interpret and verify precise measurements with a variety of tools.
Overtime and weekend work may be required. Must be willing and able to travel.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
High School Diploma or equivalent education/Certification

Conveyor belting Experience
CNC Machine Experience (G code)
Lathe Experience
Certified Welder
Rigging Experience
Belt splicing knowledge
Forklift certified

Ability and desire to quickly learn new processes and systems.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to frequently lift 50lbs. safely using proper lifting techniques.
Must be able to lift, carry, pull, push, climb, shovel, and walk, as defined by the scope of the job.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Work is generally performed in a fabrication shop environment. The noise level is moderately loud. Generally well-ventilated and well lit. Shop employees may be required to wear protective clothing. Operation of heavy equipment and strict safety regulations are required.
