Mechanical Designer/ Engineer
HIRING MECHANICAL DESIGNERS/ENGINEERS IN HOUSTON AND DALLAS
DBR is hiring Mechanical Designers and Engineers. This is an architectural/planning design role, therefore, experience working on K-12, higher education, commercial, government, data centers, and multi-purpose facilities or similar projects is strongly preferred.

DBR is hiring Mechanical Designers and Engineers. This is an architectural/planning design role, therefore, experience working on K-12, higher education, commercial, government, data centers, and multi-purpose facilities or similar projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review applicable building codes and standards for each project and design accordingly
- Review building plans to assess mechanical system options to provide recommendations to architects, owners, clients, and project managers from the earliest stages of project design
- Coordinate mechanical space requirements with project managers and architects
- Perform HVAC load calculations utilizing Trane Trace 3D plus or Carrier HAP software
- Size ductwork and piping systems as applicable to each project
- Prepare mechanical construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD/Revit and specifications utilizing Speclink Cloud for permitting, bidding, and construction
- Select and schedule mechanical equipment applicable to each project
- Communicate with internal team members and external project team members to provide fully coordinated design
- Perform energy analysis as required to achieve owner/client sustainability and energy efficiency goals
- Perform shop drawing and submittal and submittal review during project construction phases
- Assist construction administration team members with responding to requests for information (RFIs) during project construction phases
- Assist construction administration team members with building surveys and site visits throughout the duration of the project
- 3+ years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
- Knowledge/experience of mechanical engineering and design services. (Experience gained from internships or college work assignments may qualify to meet the preferred years of experience)
- PE and/or LEED accreditation a plus but not required
- Proficient with HVAC load calculation software such as Trane Trace 3D plus, Carrier HAP, or similar programs
- Familiar with SpecLink Cloud specification writing software
