Position: Mechanical Engineer, contract to hire

Description: R&D in the field of Mechanical design & Material engineering

Location: Atlanta, GA (Midtown), position is in-person/ onsite

Job Description:

Binergy Scientific is a top innovator in the field of electrochemistry, biotechnology, and material science. We develop cutting-edge electrochemical power sources, biosensors, and devices with primary focus on emerging defense applications. Our work ranges from initial concepts up to development and demonstration of fully functional fieldable prototypes covering TRL 1 to 9.

We are seeking a mechanical engineer with a strong background in mechanical design, material engineering, prototype assemblies, and testing. The emphasis of the position is to carry out work tasks in the areas of:

• Mechanical design supported with computational analyses
• Material testing and characterization
• Prototypes assembly design
• Prototype production
• Prototypes testing
• Prepare technical reports and presentations
  
  
  

Required Skills/Experience:

• Master or bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering disciplines
• Strong knowledge and experience with SolidWorks CAD drafting
• Experience with SolidWorks Simulation Premium or other computational modeling and analyses
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
• Hands on experience with machining and welding
• Technical reporting and presentation
• Seamless and efficient collaboration with Binergy team
• Due to the project focus and funding from the Department of Defense, US citizenship is required
  
  
  

Desired Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Comsol and ANSYS is a plus
• Hands on experience with CNC, water jet, EDM wire, 3D printing, and other machining tools
