What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license to join our team. This role is crucial for supporting our large-scale construction projects, which range from $5M to $100M in revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems design and a proven ability to manage complex engineering tasks from concept to completion.
The Ideal Candidate
- Design and oversee the development of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems for large-scale commercial and industrial projects.
- Perform detailed calculations for cooling and heating loads, ensuring all designs meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Lead the preparation of material matrices, selecting appropriate equipment and systems to meet both project needs and company standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Review and approve mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and submit RFI’s, ensuring all questions and concerns are addressed promptly during the preconstruction phase.
- Participate in value engineering efforts, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or performance.
- Support estimating teams by providing accurate and detailed mechanical system estimates for bid submissions.
- Lead the preparation of compliance documents, ensuring adherence to company SOPs and industry regulations.
- Provide technical support during project handover and throughout the construction phase, ensuring successful project execution.
Other Essential Functions
- Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical systems design, with a focus on HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
- MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access); AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace.
