A Mechanic will be responsible for shift coverage and therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms meeting space, and front-of-the-house areas, as well as back-of-house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. A Mechanic will also perform preventative maintenance on major equipment and systems, using a Windows-based computer system. Ability to read blueprints and schematics is also preferred. A minimum of five years building maintenance experience is preferred. A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems, is required for this position. Good communication skills are necessary.

Basic Job Duties and Expectations:

• Responds to guest request calls as needed
• Performs routine public area and guest room repairs as needed
• Performs routine mechanical, plumbing, and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Performs ongoing maintenance and repairs on kitchen equipment such as ranges, convection ovens, tilt-skillets, mixers, etc.
• Performs ongoing and preventative maintenance and minor repairs on all laundry equipment including washers, dryers, folders, ironers, and all other equipment in the Laundry Department
• Performs ongoing preventative maintenance and minor repairs to HVAC equipment such as Air Handlers, VAVs, and Exhaust Fans.
• Creates and submits purchase requisitions for approval to maintain adequate stock of tools and materials needed to perform job duties
• Acts as a part of the emergency response team at the hotel, as necessary, in the event of an emergency
• May be required to perform other duties as required by Management
  
  

This is an hourly position with compensation ranging from $32-$33.92

Qualifications

• Refined verbal communication skills
• A minimum of 5 years in hospitality maintenance experience
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
• A flexible schedule is preferred. Able to work AM or PM shifts, holidays, and weekends
• A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred
• Extensive electrical, mechanical, and plumbing experience needed
