Join our team as the Mechanical Engineer Intern.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and prototype mechanical systems in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Iterate on existing systems to improve manufacturability, lower costs, and increase performance.
- Work with a team to create manufacturing drawings/documents for systems.
- Work as part of a multi-functional team developing MR-guided robotic solutions for medical applications.
- Provide hands-on system support for MRI prototype fabrication, testing, iteration, development, and verification.
- Pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with interest in the medical industry.
- Well-developed experience in both creating and interpreting CAD and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience working with teams to solve complex engineering problems.
- At least 2 years of experience working with a team providing support in hardware engineering, fabrication, assembly, and integration.
- Core fundamentals of math & sciences: mechanics, electronics, basic electromagnetic theory, etc.
- Creative and resourceful.
- Experience around magnet systems including passive and active magnetic assemblies
- Knowledge in how to design and fabricate systems involving 3D printing, CNC fabrication, and general machine shop fabrication methods.
- Comfortability in many disciplines of engineering most importantly but not limited to Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience providing rapid prototyping or development, specifically for hardware components.
- Experience performing test and evaluation activities, especially hardware elements/ factors.
