A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As a Mechanical Quality Inspection Technician 4 at MKS Instruments, you will work in our fast-paced inspection department, leading the QA inspection team, developing the inspection approach and methods for new products, standardizing and documenting practices, and developing the skills of the inspection team. In this role, you will report to the Sr Manager, Quality Engineering.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Develops and documents best practice methods for inspection of parts, conducts inspections to mechanical drawings, creates quality control plans and documents results.
  • Coordinates and participates in the activities of the QA inspection team, specifically the mechanical inspection of machined components, weldments, heaters and assemblies for the semiconductor and vacuum industry.
  • Plans inspection activities and prepares documentation to support first article inspections.
  • Collection and disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Audits internal processes and product manufacturing for conformance to requirements.
  • Works closely with engineering and production, provides technical feedback on manufactured products and drawings. Generates Engineering Change Requests to correct drawing issues noted during inspection.
  • Trains others in inspection techniques, develops/ team members’ skills level, identifies opportunities for improvement and work standardization.

Preferred Skills:

Flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and priorities to support the current needs of the business and our internal and external customers. Solid understanding of mechanical inspection best practices and inspection of machined and welded components. High attention to detail. Passion for quality and customer satisfaction.

  • 6+ years of mechanical inspection experience, understanding of machined and welded components , GD&T
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings / GD&T and using a wide range of mechanical inspection tools and methods, perform open set-up surface plate inspections, CMM operation (Hexagon and Keyence preferred), data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; organized and flexible.
  • Creative out of the box thinker; you love to solve complex and challenging problems.

Hourly:

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA), Hourly Pay Range: $23.51 - $43.65 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the salary range for this position, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
