Position Summary: Full-time position available for preferred Registered or Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician or ATC to work under the direct supervision of Orthopedic Surgeons. Position requires strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology; strong and effective communication skills; excellent computer skills to be able to work with EMR system. Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills required and must be able to work collaboratively as a team member of the clinic staff to provide high quality treatment and efficient service to patients and clinic. We have four locations, must be willing to rotate clinical locations. Monday through Friday, no nights or weekend.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Helps facilitate the workflow of the clinic.
  • Sends tasks for all needed authorizations and/or referrals.
  • Prepares patients for examination by taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, reporting patient history summary. Data entry in our EMR
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential.
  • Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.


Experience, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of healthcare field and medical specialty. Willing to train the right candidate.

Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical specialty.

Knowledge of legal responsibilities relating to patient confidentiality.

Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.

Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.

Skill in operating all office/medical equipment. Assist with injections.

Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care.

Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.

Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks.

Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others.

Other duties include, but not limited to, assisting with the treatment of orthopedic injuries; applying and/or removing a variety of casts and splints and removal of sutures, pins and wires returning patient calls; DME dispensing bracing.
