Medical Biller - Remote | WFH

We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our team in a vital role focused on managing patient balances and handling insurance claims. As a Medical Biller, you'll serve as a crucial link between our practice, patients, and insurance providers. Collaborating closely with our clinical leadership and administrative staff, you'll ensure smooth operations in all billing-related matters. This position begins with on-site training in Massachusetts before transitioning to a remote role, requiring candidates to be based in the New England area.

Reporting to the Revenue Cycle Manager, this non-exempt, hybrid role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

As a Medical Biller, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Serving as a liaison between the practice, patients, billing consultants, and insurance companies.

Managing patient and insurance billing processes, including assisting with patient registration, insurance verification, and authorization tracking.

Maintaining accurate billing records, issuing invoices to patients for remaining balances after insurance payouts, and ensuring timely billing data preparation.

Handling patient invoices related to vascular procedures and facilitating claims settlement between the practice, insurance companies, and patients.

Communicating with insurance company representatives to track payments and verify patient coverage.

Supporting accurate and efficient billing processes and financial closing.

Handling vascular reading charges and processing payments from insurance companies.

Ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintaining a high level of discretion regarding sensitive information.

Being willing to provide backup support for front desk duties as needed.

Completing ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the medical billing field.

Strong knowledge of vascular medical coding.

Proficiency in various computer programs.

Exceptional customer service skills.
