We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our team in the healthcare industry. This remote position requires occasional travel to Flint, Michigan for orientation and equipment handling.
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Flint, MI
Salary: Competitive rate, up to $20 per hour
Responsibilities
Assigning ICD-9 diagnosis, CPT, and HCPCS procedure codes to medical records
Reporting and tracking incomplete documentation
Assisting in the credentialing process for providers
Addressing pre-claim system edits and third-party payer denials related to coding
Conducting checks on medical provider documentation for compliance and accuracy
Supporting the implementation of a Compliance plan for coding and billing accuracy
Identifying coding risk areas and proposing strategies for improvement
Reporting findings to supervisors promptly
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Coding
Proficiency in EHR systems
Experience with Billing Functions in a healthcare setting is a plus
Expertise in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 Codes
Strong problem-solving skills
Certified in Medical Coding
Familiarity with Medical Records and their management
