Medical School Recruitment Specialist

The position is responsible for carrying out student outreach and recruitment activities, including providing direct oversight of the Mountaineer Accelerated Pathway (MAP) to the Medical Degree as the MAP Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, counseling, social work, science, health science, or related field.
2. Valid unrestricted driver’s license
3. Two years of employment as a recruiter, teacher, academic advisor to high school or college students, a worker in the field of undergraduate degree, or administrative office experience.
 
CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.  They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties.  Other duties may be assigned.
 
1. Oversees the process of surveying all the counties in West Virginia for prospective MD students, while seeking out and registering for outreach and recruitment opportunities in-state and out-of-state; represents the MD program at said in-state events to uphold LCME standard 10.
2. Schedules and conducts meetings and tours with prospective MD students for the Director of Outreach and Recruitment and self.
3. Creates electronic marketing materials for recruitment events and updates website.
4. Serves as MAP coordinator and creates and maintains the MAP policies and procedure manual.
5. Develops and implements effective short- and long-term outreach and recruitment plans to attract the most academically talented high school seniors from all West Virginia counties who are interested in pursuing an MD through MAP.
6. Collaborates with MAP undergraduate advisors and conducts advising sessions with MAP students.
7. Manages correspondences in the office email accounts and the CollegeNet Prospect portal.
