Your Impact

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a scientific liaison to the medical/academic community and is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with Health Care Providers/Professionals (HCPs) to ensure the appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information regarding Poseida’s product candidates in a timely, ethical and stakeholder-focused manner, driving Poseida’s mission to cure patients of cancer.

Position Summary

Poseida Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced MSL, Field Medical Affairs to join our clinical stage biotechnology company. The MSL will lead field medical engagement, driving scientific exchange and providing clinical and scientific support for our innovative portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cellular therapy (oncology and non-oncology), exceptional leadership skills and clinical acumen, and a proven track record of success in medical affairs. This is a director level position and will report in the Chief Medical Officer.

Responsibilities

• Medical advocate for the group by utilizing disease state knowledge combined with a detailed understanding of the investigational cellular therapy product landscape to engage HCPs during scientific exchange, leading to the delivery of synthesized meaningful and impactful feedback and insights to Clinical and Medical leadership.
• Lead all external engagement of our scientific platform by identifying, building and maintaining successful relationships with clinical investigators, key opinion leaders, and site research staff, as well as supporting Clinical Development/ Operations with identification of trial sites and support of trial enrollment.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development on shared initiatives by providing strategic insights to assist in shaping our programs and study designs.
• Be a key contributor to internal cross-functional business planning, scenario workshops, and overall Clinical and Medical strategies. broader to enterprise leadership, project teams and whole company
• Ability to support various and complex Medical Affairs projects, as well as troubleshoot and provide solutions and mitigation strategies to cumbersome scenarios in support of our collaborating sites and healthcare teams.
• Identify internal organizational opportunities to drive efficient performance leading to improved productivity and execution of projects initiatives aligning with department and corporate goals.
• Work with cross-functional colleagues to drive results on key initiatives including milestone achievements, resource management, budget deliverables, and detailed workplans of impactful projects.
  
  

Requirements

Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Master’s degree with a minimum of 8+ years of biotech/pharma industry experience, with at least 3 years of experience as an MSL and 2 years of clinical experience in a clinical setting.
• Prior experience in a clinical setting/ medical center is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in large pharma or biotech is required.
• Ability to provide concise, clear, and timely communication to Medical Affairs leadership as well as delivering complex medical and scientific information effectively to HCPs.
• Experience in clinical stage
• oncology and early pipeline Medical Affairs, including a history of collaboration with Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, and Research colleagues.
• Superior communication skills.
• Experience with cellular therapy clinical trials, with a vast understanding of the cellular therapy landscape.
• Track record of successful scientific congress planning, internal medical education to non-clinical collaborators, and publication support.
• Experience outside oncology is also a plus but not required
• Ability to travel approx. 75% of the time, both domestic and abroad as necessary.
  
  

Medical Science Liaison Pay Range $203,000 to $229,000 annually

The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
