Medical Scribe

General Description: The Scribe/Clinical Coordinator will assist our Reproductive Endocrinology Physicians and nurses with the coordination of IVF cycles and fertility patient treatment plans. In addition, you may also perform a variety of clinical duties under the direction of a physician or physician extender to provide clinical support to our physicians, along with performing patient care administrative duties necessary to deliver quality patient care; being responsible for and ensuring overall satisfaction of the patient experience.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate all infertility diagnostic tests and treatment plans between patients and physicians.
  • Perform clinical functions that impact patient care, patient flow and patient satisfaction.
  • Telephone triage with patients regarding patient medication, treatment plans and test results.
  • Care of patient through ovulation induction, egg freezing, sperm analysis, IVF and oocyte donation.
  • Educates patients on IVF procedures, treatment protocols, medications and injections.
  • Responsible for the ongoing communication between the Physician and the patient.
  • Counsels patients on infertility treatment protocols.
  • Communicates physician orders and instructions.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely communication of lab results to patients.
  • Maintain Patient charting, testing and flow sheets.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures related to fertility.
  • Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately to all stressful situations.
  • Skilled in charting and documenting nursing actions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Consistently model the organization's philosophy of customer service.
  • Meet with patients to coordinate upcoming procedures, review requirements, calendars, and medications.
  • Communicate with provider any patient related issues, ultrasound findings and lab results.
  • Strong communication skills with professional yet friendly etiquette providing the utmost customer care.
  • Must know how to schedule patients in a timely and organized manner.
  • Providing compassion and emotional support and counseling to patients throughout the IVF experience
  • Interacts with OR clinical staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Science.
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in a medical setting-preferred
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time-management, customer service, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and an individualized, compassionate approach to patient care.
