Merchandiser
The Merchandiser is a key support to the SVP of Brand and is responsible for planning, developing, and executing merchandising strategies that align with the brand's goals and market trends. This role requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for fashion trends, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage product assortments to maximize sales and profitability. The Merchandiser will work closely with the Brand's design, product development, production and creative teams as well as the Wantable Planning, Buying, Marketing and Ecommerce teams to ensure cohesive and successful product launches.

Key Responsibilities:
Line Planning and Development:
- Line/Assortment Planning: Develop and execute seasonal product assortments that align with the brand's vision and market trends
- Trend Analysis: Conduct market research and trend analysis to inform product planning and ensure the brand remains competitive
- Product Lifecycle Management & Master Calendar Owner: Manage the product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, ensuring timely product launches and discontinuations. Own and maintain Master Calendar.
- Revenue Forecasting: With Planning and Buying, develop revenue forecasts and monitor sales performance to ensure inventory levels meet demand
- Inventory Management: Work with the Planning and Buying team to manage stock levels, ensuring optimal inventory turnover and minimizing excess stock
- Replenishment Strategies: Develop and implement replenishment strategies to ensure key products are always available
- Design Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to ensure product assortments align with design intent and market needs
- Production Coordination: Partner with the production team to ensure timely and cost-effective production of merchandise
- Ecommerce Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide product knowledge and support for successful product launches and sales initiatives
- Data Integrity: partner with Design, PD and Production to ensure all data is accurate at key milestone deadlines
- Calendar Management: Key team member responsible for ensuring all departments are adhering to the master calendar.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage merchandising budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies that maximize profitability
- Pricing Strategy: Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability
- Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data and market trends to inform merchandising strategies and make data-driven decisions
- Performance Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends for senior management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the fashion apparel industry
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in merchandising software and tools, such as Excel and PLM systems
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute merchandising strategies that align with brand goals
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends
- Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of merchandising
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
- This position may require occasional travel to to suppliers, and industry events
- The role is typically office-based but may involve work in various environments depending on merchandising activities
