SUMMARY
The Merchandising Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the brand's product offerings. By deeply understanding the preferences and behaviors of Oscar de la Renta customers, staying abreast of current global fashion trends, and being attuned to the luxury positioning and brand identity of Oscar de la Renta, they're able to curate a product assortment that resonates with the target audience while staying true to the brand's values and image. This blend of market insights, customer understanding, and brand knowledge is essential for creating a compelling and relevant product lineup that drives success for the brand. This person will report directly to the SVP of Sales & Merchandising.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with SVP of Sales & Merchandising to create seasonal line plans for RTW and components.
Analyze weekly, monthly, seasonal data & provide hindsight analysis per season.
Provide global analysis that drives consensus and overall strategy.
Provide competitive analysis: price points, silhouettes, fabric, category, etc.
Identify latest trends and provide seasonal merchandise guidance.
Identify product opportunities through regular hind-sighting that incorporates consumer research, business unit feedback and sales performance analysis.
Work closely with SVP of Sales & Merchandising to manage retail price setting, target costs and margin goals.
Ensure maximum performance relating to sales volume and gross margin opportunities in all categories.
Ensure that corporate deadlines are met to deliver products on a timely basis.
Partner with Design and Product Development throughout the entire conceptual and commercialization process to build assortment that addresses brand and customer needs/strategies.
Partner with DTC and Wholesale teams to understand, influence and drive business objectives/customer needs, and identify category/product opportunities.
Provide/develop PK knowledge for sales and retail teams.
Manage business by analyzing sales information to identify opportunities for increasing sales and improving margins.
Build effective relationships with colleagues and cross-functional partners.
Identify business opportunities and risks in season through analyzing and communicating sales performance gathering marketplace information.
Create relevant product assortments that drive business.
Maintain updated knowledge of key competitor products, distribution and pricing strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
At least 7 years experiences in merchandising
Strong strategic and analytical ability
Driven for results with strong financial acumen.
Excellent verbal and written ability; Adept at presenting information and storytelling
Ability to align with, collaborate and influence cross functional partners and peers.
Ability to assess complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
