Job Type Full-time Description Microsoft Systems Administrator Best Place to work 2023! The Microsoft Systems Administrator is responsible for the configuration, operation and security of the entire Microsoft product line utilized by our organization. This includes system builds, upgrades and configuration changes. The role will have a direct impact on the decisions and plans for the products deployed. This position strives to fulfill the mission of United Way of Connecticut (UWC) while at work. Essential Functions: Plans and manages the security structure of our Microsoft environment. Administers the configuration and security of our Azure environment. Conducts planning for Microsoft product deployment and product planning. Administers the Office 365 environment to ensure availability. Manages the local Microsoft servers to ensure systems are patched, updated, and secure. Responsible to set our organization's Security Policies. Serves as a system administrator for our SharePoint environment. Administers our PC rollout methodology.

  • Manages and monitors our Phishing training systems and implements plans to ensure success. Light PowerShell scripting to support our implemented workflows. Works within the bounds of IT standards to develop business solutions using a combination of local IT capabilities and SaaS products. Performs system wide security audits on a regular basis to ensure a secure environment. Configures and documents SaaS product workflows. Performs staff training and support for IT systems and solutions. Works within a group to evaluate SaaS products. Implements and administers SaaS products to ensure security, operability and ease of use. Communication Communicate the effects of system changes using approved email announcements or direct contact to management for any impacts on security and workflow. Communicates changes within the IT group and follows configuration management procedures. Execution Works with IT and other business units to plan and implement system changes. Adheres to established development standards and protocols. Works with our vendors to provide requirements and manage execution. Actively monitors system for security risks and compromises. Other Functions: Proactively researches trends and implements new technologies. Continually learns, tracks, and implements new security protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. Why you should work here Pay & Benefits: salary ranges from $83,000- $95,000 plus Spanish- or Portuguese-speaking applicant who is hired and passes certification after 90 days on the job will get an additional $.75 per hour for professional proficiency in one language or an additional $1.50 per hour for both languages. An outright 8% 401(k) contribution ($7,200 of additional compensation per year ).

Requirements Qualifications and Competencies: Education Bachelor's or Associate's degree or 5 years of equivalent experience as a system administrator. Knowledge and Experience Experience administering Microsoft Systems including local and Azure environments. Experience with the SaaS implementations and management Skills Technical understanding of system security. Proficient with several communication tools including MS Teams, Slack, JIRA, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present technical details so both technical and non-technical audiences understand content. Strong analytic mindset with the ability to decompose complex problems into simpler components. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in day-to-day duties. Ability to become an expert in the lines of business needs, including their data and reporting needs, and develop their trust. Proficiency with MS Office applications. Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills. Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while under pressure. Solid problem-solving skills. Ability to successfully complete tasks and multiple projects independently as well as collaboratively with minimal supervision. Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups. Schedule: Ability to support a 24/7 mission-critical environment. May be required to occasionally work outside regularly scheduled hours and must adhere to specified emergency response times. Scheduled hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm (1 Hour Lunch) Must be able to work from UWC offices in Rocky Hill, CT one day per week. The work environment is a clean and comfortable office setting consisting of standard fluorescent lighting, offices, cubicles, and open workspaces.
