Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization environments.
Perform routine system monitoring, performance tuning, and optimization to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
Provide advanced technical support to end-users and IT team members regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems, escalating issues as necessary to ensure timely resolution.
System Configuration and Deployment:
Design, implement, and maintain system configurations, including operating systems, applications, and security settings.
Deploy new systems and technologies in accordance with established procedures and best practices.
Security Management:
Implement and enforce security measures and policies to protect IT systems, data, and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities.
Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests to identify and address security risks.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
Perform regular backups, test recovery procedures, and update documentation as needed.
Patch Management and Compliance:
Manage and coordinate software patching and updates for operating systems, applications, and firmware to maintain system security and compliance.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to IT systems and infrastructure.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and best practices.
Share knowledge and expertise with team members through training sessions, documentation, and collaboration tools.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, CompTIA Server+) are a plus.
Experience: 3-5 years of experience in system administration roles, with a focus on managing complex IT infrastructures in enterprise environments.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in administering Windows Server and/or Linux/Unix operating systems.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
Familiarity with security tools and practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
Experience with backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Backup Exec) and disaster recovery planning.
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for task automation and system management.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with IT team members, stakeholders, and external vendors to achieve common goals and objectives.
