Job Description

  • You are interested in social justice and living education
  • You deeply value Montessori pedagogy and curriculum, or are seeking to learn, willing to be trained and implement it within a multi-aged environment.
  • You have meaningful experience and appreciate working with elementary-aged children
  • You are ready to learn even more about invigorating social justice within a new approach to education that is grounded in supporting individual student agency

Responsibilities

  • Lead an intimate Montessori elementary classroom (grades 1-6) as a full-time classroom teacher or part-time (mornings)
  • Support a mixed-age class of students with small group and individual lessons, follow-up work, and real-world extensions and community engagement
  • Communicate frequently with parents to ensure they have a clear understanding of their child's academic, social, and emotional progress
  • Work closely with a team of people to keep your environment exciting, students engaged and learning, and willing to learn how they can leave a legacy of peace, justice, and kindness at all times.
