Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Underwriter in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is within the lending industry and will primarily involve managing a pipeline of various loans, reviewing and analyzing mortgage underwriting files, and making data-driven decisions independently. The workplace is fast-paced and requires a strong understanding of loan programs and the lending life cycle.
Responsibilities
Oversee a daily loan pipeline in relation to the suite of loan programs
Analyze and review loan files for accuracy, creditworthiness, compliance, and collateral
Collaborate with the lending team and Loan Officers to finalize loan files
Acquire knowledge and understanding of the loan programs and their requirements
Make independent decisions regarding loan files and aid in guiding them to the funding process
Validate data, review credit and reporting, ensure entity compliance, assess borrower/investor experience, and analyze collateral
Manage nontraditional hard money loans, fix and flip, and bridge loans, along with loans fitting other products
Handle additional tasks, projects, or assignments as needed.
Requirements
Proficiency in 3m Coding and Adobe Acrobat
Experience with Automated Underwriting System
Proficient in CRM and Data Processing
Solid understanding of Appraisals and Bank Relations
Previous experience in a Call Center Customer Service role
Familiarity with Closing Processes and Compliance procedures
Experience in Loan Origination and Loan Review
Knowledge of Commercial Loans
Experience with Construction-to-Permanent Loans and Construction Loans
