Key Responsibilities
Underwrite and assess agency conforming, jumbo, FHA, and VA residential mortgage loans.
Verify and analyze necessary financial documentation to ensure completeness of loan files, including credit and legal documents.
Review appraisal reports and address any discrepancies.
Conduct a thorough analysis of applicants’ income, expenses, assets, credit reports, and property valuations.
Calculate qualifying ratios, assess creditworthiness, and provide risk assessments.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in underwriting VA, FHA, Conventional, and Jumbo loans.
Proficient with FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages (preferred).
Strong understanding of Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Prospector/Loan Product Advisor (LP/LPA).
Proficient in performing key loan calculations (DTI, LTV, etc.) and preparing detailed findings reports.
Effectively manage multiple files at once.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
