Multifamily Underwriter

JustinBradley’s client, a leading source in mortgage financing, is seeking a Multifamily Underwriter. This person will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting multifamily mortgage loan applications, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations. This role requires detailed analysis of financial data, property performance, market conditions, and borrower qualifications to assess risk and determine the loan's viability. The Underwriter works closely with lenders, brokers, and internal teams to manage the underwriting process from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on potential risks and costs involved with providing services to a customer.
• Analyze the risks and costs of a lending decision and make recommendations on process improvement related to decision process.
• Advise on process related to issuance of the securities or other financial loans to the customer.

Qualifications:

• 6 years of relevant experience
• A comprehensive knowledge of commercial mortgage multifamily underwriting including property financial analysis, borrower credit, and market analyses
• Demonstrated experience in screening and / or underwriting DUS loans
• Knowledge of DUS underwriting guidelines
• Strong credit and financial analysis skills

Desired Experiences:

• Bachelor degree or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience with the commercial multifamily real estate industry
• Experience with various Multifamily property types
• Evaluation of borrower/organizational structures
• Customer and real estate market insights.
• Risk Assessment/mitigation and relationship management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with team members and key strategic partners.
• Skilled in Excel (intermediate or advanced); SalesForce
