Job Summary
The Peoria Unified School District is seeking a positive, collaborative and student-centered Multimedia Communications Supervisor to add to their fast-paced and award-winning Communications & Public Relations Department. The Multimedia Communications Supervisor is expected to demonstrate proficiency in delivering content across various mediums. This individual will be integral to the communications team (comms team) by using various multimedia tools to share the district’s story with key stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include oversight of the district’s website, photography and videography. The ideal team member will be able to capture, edit and produce high-quality video and audio assets for a variety of communication channels.
The ideal candidate for this position has strong interpersonal communication skills with a keen attention to detail and can manage projects for the team from start to finish. The person who fills this position should expect to grow professionally and adapt as new projects and deadlines arise.
This role is supervised by the Chief Communications Officer and has one direct report, the team’s Graphic Designer.

Job Requirements

- Strong attention to detail.
- Expertise in audio and video recording/editing, photography and webpage design and management.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of district policies and procedures.
- Work independently and in a collaborative environment, depending on the project or task.
- Available full-time, Monday through Friday with occasional outside hours required to assist with events that highlight the district’s students or staff.
- Ability to travel between school sites, school districts and to occasional conferences.
- Work with the comms team to maintain the district’s cohesive, accurate and timely online presence in alignment with the district’s brand standards.
- Assist schools with website training and editing.
- Support the graphic designer with multimedia content and collaborate on graphics, infographics, and interactive visuals.
- Work collaboratively with the comms team to storyboard and conceptualize content.
- Video, edit and produce content for storytelling, brand management and engagement.
- Schedule and secure interviews for multimedia production.
- Assist in the production of the district's podcasts.
- Adhere to department standards and follow deadlines.
- Monitors trending content and makes recommendations on new or emerging technologies to support the district’s brand.
- Occasionally support the department with research to assist with communication video projects and communication planning.
- Support the photography and videography needs of the district at department-led special events and occasional school events.
- Provide all photography support for unifiED, the district’s biannual magazine.
- Support the team’s crisis response efforts as member of the Emergency Operations Center.
- Perform other communication duties as assigned by the Chief Communications Officer.
- A minimum of three years of experience in audio-visual production.
- Past supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent video and photography storytelling skills.
- Skilled at using programs such as Final Cut Pro, Premier, Adobe Illustrator, Light Room, Photoshop or equivalent.
- Skilled at using professional-grade photography, audio and video equipment.
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
- May be required to work outside normal working hours.
- May be required to travel to perform work functions.
