National Accounts Senior Director, Group Purchasing Organizations

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Director, Group Purchsing Organizations & National Accountsare to:

The Senior Director, GPOs & National Accounts is the primary contact for a select set of GPOs (Urology, Oncology and/or Hospital) and in that capacity accountable to negotiate, execute and maintain contracts, rebates and administration fees for Bayer’s portfolio of oncology products. Further, the Sr Director, GPOs & National Accounts provides critical input into the strategic customer planning process inclusive of contract strategy, marketing services and field activation. The Sr Director, GPOs & National Accounts will also be responsible for impactful preparation & execution of C-Suite leadership meetings and business reviews and select GPO meetings and marketing activities. This role will be the lead for strategic national accounts and responsible for developing and executing a cross-functional national account strategy for select strategic accounts and be the main point of contact for national account leadership.

  • Craft and Execute Customer Strategy and Business Development for Group Purchasing Organizations - Deliver and maintain profitable access to national oncology and hospital group purchasing organizations;
  • Establish and maintain Bayer’s position as a premier partner with all GPOs;
  • Drive optimal investments for all products in Bayer’s Oncology portfolio;
  • Develop and execute product launch strategies incl. access and uptake in key accounts;
  • Identify new business development opportunities such as startup GPOs or hospital outpatient GPOs;
  • Develop deep enduring relationships with key national GPO executives and key decision makers;
  • Design and execute impactful joint business planning sessions, performance reviews and executive leadership meetings to manage performance and identify strategic opportunities for Bayer’s product portfolio;
  • Design and execute select meetings, events and marketing service activities in collaboration with the Product & Pipeline team;
  • Meet all deadlines for new contracts, pricing and rebate amendments, CDAs, MSAs, and SOWs Develop and Execute Strategy for National Accounts;
  • Identify opportunities for mutual benefit rooted in customer needs for a select set of national accounts;
  • Develop and execute cross-functional strategy for target national accounts incl. coordination of system-wide initiatives across individual affiliates;
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key contacts at target accounts;
  • Plan and lead impactful business reviews and executive leadership meetings;
  • Drive appropriate placement of Bayer products on protocols and pathways Be the ‘voice of the customer’ to internal teams and ensure coordination and alignment in strategic planning and execution;
  • Drive strategic insights into GPO contracting strategy, key market service initiatives and field activation plans;
  • Analyze and communicate competitive contract/positioning information;
  • Engage in brand planning process with marketing squads to strategically integrate GPO offerings and identify new opportunities;
  • Lead account coordination with all internal stakeholders including brand squad leads, internal contracting, channel marketing, market access and pricing teams to pull[1]through customer strategies to GPOs;
  • Strategically plan and align with channel distribution team to ensure favorable positioning, market access and appropriate customer initiatives. Determine and align data requirements with target GPOs;
  • Ongoing GPO channel education across relevant teams;
  • Use customer insights to drive and guide development of new offerings, ability to translate and integrate into Bayer strategic initiatives;
  • Enable flow of field-based channel insights internally to enable better understanding of market dynamics and competitive trends that could impact profitable access;
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement efforts and knowledge sharing initiatives among account teams to emphasize and disseminate best practices Impact;
  • Supports national GPO customers which contributes to Bayer’s $1.5B product portfolio;
  • Develops long running relationships with hospital, oncology and urology GPOs;
  • Creates and drives innovative solutions through field teams;
  • Oncology Sales impact $1.5B.

Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • 15+ years related work experience in sales and / or account management in the pharmaceutical industry 10+ years managed markets experience with demonstrated success (preferred) 7+ years GPO experience;
  • Experience executing market access strategies for National accounts, and exposure to contract development and negotiations for same.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $202,174 to $303,261. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
