National Sea Logistics Intern

Your Role

Join us for this compelling year long rotational internship! As our corporate sea logistics intern, is responsible for reviewing documents, initiating and following up on disputes, canceling outdated files, identifying potential major losses (such as demurrage or detention fees), maintaining rate sheets, updating bookings, auditing carrier invoices, and collaborating with trade teams.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide pricing and rate information as requested to those making inquiries of the Trade team, similar to a rate desk function
• Stay informed of market conditions and communicate these conditions and expectations of the future to the Kuehne + Nagel US organization so they are best prepared to deal and communicate with customers and make informed price decisions
• You will get to take part in these discussions and contribute, covering topics covered will include carrier strategy, pricing policy, individual carrier and customer deals and general topics
• Ensure our contracts are administratively in order and that all terms are agreed between Kuehne + Nagel and carriers are reflected in the agreements, conditions and requirements are monitored and adhered to
• Work with Kuehne + Nagel’s Ocean Carriers on a continuous basis to ensure that all contracts are up to date, clean and cover all cargo that they are assigned to cover
  
  

Your Skills And Experiences

• Bachelor's degree in economics, business, supply chain management or related field
• Highly proficient in the Microsoft suite, in particular Excel.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Tableau/Qlikview/SAP/Alteryx or similar data management software
