Overview:


ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This Network Administrator position is focused on providing high-level support for maintaining and troubleshooting critical network systems. The role includes hardware lifecycle management, ensuring network security, and supporting data integrity efforts within mission-critical systems. The Network Administrator will be responsible for providing comprehensive infrastructure maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, emergency response, client support, system energization/acceptance testing, performance analysis, and trending. Additionally, the role requires maintaining detailed documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and protocols. This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA.


Pay Rate: $43.67 - $62.39

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain large complex data networks.
  • Manage all aspects of LAN/WAN routing and switching; e.g., Cisco IOS, Cisco SD-WAN, and Cisco ACI.
  • Interpret, recommend and implement configurations and controls for hardening network infrastructure systems.
  • Establish network performance baselines and capabilities.
  • Ensure that network devices operate reliably and securely.
  • Develop and maintain network diagrams, schematics, data flow diagrams, and other supporting documentation.
  • Maintain and update network components hardware and software.
  • Assist field teams and resolve complex network issues.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, draft remediation recommendations, and participate in the deployment of technical controls.
  • Draft and prepare responses to cyber security alerts, data calls, and vulnerability assessments of cyber-attacks.
  • Identify and recommend equipment / property near ‘end of life’ be reviewed for retirement / disposal per procedures.
  • Collaborate with the manager, providing analysis and recommendations, to develop workload strategies to increase org efficiencies and enhance workload balance and engagement.
  • Design solutions for improving the security, efficiency, and functionality of the Field Intranet Network (FIN) system; assist with implementation of approved solutions.
  • With Manager oversight and approval provide the following support:
  • Research, test, and draft / document standardized technical procedures for the deployment of network hardware and services; organize, store, and dispose of superseded documents in accordance with Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards.
  • Perform regular assessments of newly discovered vulnerabilities on a wide range of operational network devices, computer systems devices, and various software packages. Document patch and vulnerability applicability assessments and recommend vulnerability mitigation options. Report any concerns to the manager.
  • Respond to support calls utilizing change management software to process and complete the tasks necessary for resolution of technical client issues; unusually complex issues may include involvement of the appropriate manager or team lead.
  • Mark documents and maintain filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements. Share and disperse documents only to appropriate personnel (those with a Lawful Government Purpose (LGP) to know). Mark and maintain all official records in accordance with the Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards and procedures. Validate official records are accurately maintained for auditing purposes.
  • Provide advice and recommendations for process / procedural changes that may become necessary due to system changes, upgrades, etc. to appropriate manager / team lead / stakeholders.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the manager, technical lead, and staff, regarding computer infrastructure decisions, and create tasks to fulfill management-directed goals.
  • Support and assist the team lead and North American Electric Reliability Corporation - Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC-CIP) subject matter experts (SMEs) with implementing, analyzing, and reporting on the operational compliance of all Control Center cyber assets.
  • Develop, draft, and recommend improvements to the Control Center’s procedures and processes for compliance with the company and NERC-CIP standards and policies.
  • Develop, draft, and recommend improvements to the Control Center’s procedures and processes for Grid Modernization project, as well as other capital and expense projects.
  • Assist management with the implementation and promotion of approved operational compliance process improvement efforts, specifically as relates to the administration of the above referenced systems.


Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Network Administration, Computer/Information Technology (or closely related field) is required.
  • 8 years of experience is required.
  • Experience should include implementing and maintaining network security in a large enterprise environment with Quality of Service (QOS).
  • 5 years of experience programming, configuration, and testing by command line interface (CLI) on Cisco routers and switches (Access Control List – ACL).
  • 5 years of experience coordinating and maintaining security regulatory requirements for an electrical utility or comparable public or private utility facilities.
  • 5 years of experience implementing and maintaining network security in a large enterprise environment.
  • 5 years of experience performing network management and operations tasks in a large enterprise environment.
  • 5 years of experience in monitoring and coordinating the implementation of Information Systems Security Plans, processes and procedures.
  • 5 years of experience working with common network test applications such as Wireshark, CAT5 certification testers, Nessus scanning, NMAP, and Spirent Ethernet test equipment.
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Visio sufficient to create drawings, web pages and server icons to document procedures.
  • 2 years of experience coordinating the implementation of NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection and procedures.
  • 1 year of experience working with Cyber Security laws, regulations and internal policies to draft an Information Systems Security Plan (ISSP) and associated cyber security processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of the application of Cyber Security practices within the Federal Environment or other electrical utility or comparable public or private utility facilities.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.
