Job Overview

Davies US is looking for an experienced Network Administrator for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, documenting, creating, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Reporting to the IS Manager, you will Analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required. May supervise lower grade IT staff.

To be successful in this role, you need to have superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner, superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines and exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. You must have a high school diploma, have experience with Switch/Router/Firewall setup and maintenance, Backup infrastructure setup and maintenance, and a A+ and N+ certified, CCNA, MCSE Certified or equivalent experience. Additionally, you will need to exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information and display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization. This role is a in office position based in Orlando Florida.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Set up, configure, and support internal and/or external networks.
  • Create, design, develop, diagnose, test and maintain a highly efficient networking environment for the entire user community, including installations of servers, routers, switches & firewall devices.
  • Analyze systems to determine software, hardware and system needs for the company, including consulting with end- users and setting up procedures for system specs.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Handle research, comparisons, and recommend different technologies that will keep the network highly efficient and stay within departmental budgets.
  • Develop and maintain all systems, applications, security, phone system and network configurations, ensuring protection of data, software, and hardware
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues; liaise with carriers and service providers as necessary to ensure fully functional systems.
  • Pro-actively recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment
  • Provide technical support and guidance to users and clients.
  • Responsible for the training and continual education of end-users and IS staff.
  • Responsible for maintenance of ALL warranties and licenses for all software and hardware utilized for company business.
  • Responsible for maintaining an efficient system for turning around networking and equipment work requests in a timely manner. An adequate store of frequently used components must be kept on hand and restocked as needed to reduce user down time.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining systems and documentation that support compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Act as Branch Catastrophe Coordinator responsible for Corporate Cat Plan review, updates and submission; emergency notifications to employees.
  • May be required to assist at other Davies branch offices to design networking systems, modification of current systems, help with protocol and compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • May supervise lower grade IT staff; including input and assistance in scorecards, performance evaluations, monitoring attendance, work schedules and time cards, etc., in support of the manager.
  • Remain up to date and familiar with a variety of IT concepts, practices, and procedures.

Required

Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Switch/Router/Firewall setup and maintenance
  • Backup infrastructure setup and maintenance
  • A+ and N+ certified, CCNA, MCSE, MCSA Certified or equivalent experience
  • Windows Server 2012 – 2022 administration experience necessary
  • Windows Desktop operating system Windows 10 & 11 experience a must
  • Level II help desk to include setup, maintenance, troubleshooting of windows desktop operating systems and application support
  • Skills necessary include Active Directory, user & group administration, Group Policy creation, testing, administration, WSUS, print servers, DNS, DHCP
  • Server monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning experience necessary to keep systems at peak performance

Preferred

  • 4 year degree a plus
  • 5+ years working in a Microsoft Server networking environment

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a in office, full time, salaried, exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
