Network Administrator

Basic Purpose and Objectives of the Position

The Network Administrator is a salary position reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology. This position is responsible for administrating the network and network security, desktop and PC support, and restaurant field support of back house communication and security issues.

Principle Accountabilities

Network Administrator was established to assist the VP of IT with directing, planning, organizing, and controlling all activities of the MIS Department and to ensure the effective, efficient, and secure operation of all automated data processing systems. The Network Administrator is also responsible for all day-to-day technical aspects.

Specific Responsibilities

Network Administration Tasks

  • Maintenance, repair, hardware, and software upgrades of all PC’s and Servers, (i.e.; antivirus software, software updates and patches, firmware updates)
  • Implement and maintain the protocols for communication via Internet Exchange Server utilizing Cisco routers and Sonic Wall NSA3500
  • Implement POP3, SMPT, IMAP, and BES for utilization of OWA and mobile communication devices and internet solutions as needed across the network.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server Setup and Administration
  • Network Administration and Security
  • VPN Administration and Security
  • Daily routine and non-routine network backups and restore operations
  • Design, develop, and implement IT systems tailored to the specific needs of residential, commercial office, and restaurant environments.
  • Plan, install, and maintain internet, cable TV, and phone systems.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of electric and generator systems.
  • Implement and manage security systems including surveillance cameras, access control, and smart locks.
  • Plan and execute wiring projects encompassing electrical installations and ethernet cabling.
  • Integrate and manage IoT devices such as smart thermostats, lighting systems, and kitchen appliances.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve issues related to IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

POS Support and Administration

Installation, Repair And Maintenance Of

  • Security Systems / Cameras
  • Telephone, modem and DSL issues in the restaurants and residences
  • Learn and assist with office network and PC set-ups.
  • Flexible schedule

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • BS degree in Computer Science preferred and at least 2 years work experience in all phases of computer operations
  • Knowledge of all aspects of data processing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Ability to prioritize and organize
