Network Administrator I

The Network Admin I position will assist the Network Infrastructure Manager and Director of IT in managing day to day network operations as well as taking part in new network, server, and security projects and initiatives. This role involves troubleshooting cloud and on-premises network and server issues, taking part in planning and implementation of projects, and ensuring high levels of system availability.

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Immediately escalate any critical issues to the Infrastructure Manager and Director of IT.
• Report directly to the Director of IT, communicating any status updates and ongoing projects or issues.
• Work closely with service desk team to troubleshoot customer infrastructure issues.
• Monitor network and server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal system performance.
• Respond to and resolve IT incidents and service requests, prioritizing tasks to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist in and lead infrastructure projects, including planning, implementation, and post-implementation activities.
• Support the enforcement of security measures to protect IT systems and data.
• Assist in ensuring the high availability, security, and reliability of all IT systems.
• Perform routine system management, updates, and upgrades.
• Maintain and update documentation for infrastructure processes, procedures, and configurations.Play active role in management and development of Azure environment.
• Assist in Cybersecurity tasks as assigned by the Director of IT.
• Participate in Cybersecurity incident response drills and events.
  
  
  

Required Skills/ Abilities:

• Good working knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and networks.
• Experience with ticketing systems required, change management experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and troubleshooting processes to non-technical users.
• Experience with Windows Servers, Hyper-V, and VMWare.
• Experience with Unifi, FortiGate, and Sophos network equipment is a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft AZ-900, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ etc.) are desirable.
  
  
  

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT operations
  
  
  

Work Environment

This is primarily a desk-based role, requiring extended periods of sitting and computer use. While the role is mainly desk-based, mobility within the office, manufacturing facility and customer sites may be required for meetings and interactions with colleagues.

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Ability to traverse office, manufacturing facility and customer sites.
