Network Architect

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Cisco technologies, particularly Cisco Client, and a good understanding of Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls, VPNs, and network security protocols. This role involves designing and implementing a robust test environment, working with existing infrastructure, and guiding the organization through cloud migration. Strong technical skills, written communication, and the ability to create and compile network architecture diagrams are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Cisco Expertise:

• Mastery of Cisco technologies is required, especially Cisco Client (802.1X) and Cisco ICE.
• Design, implement, and manage network solutions using Cisco technologies.

Fortigate and Palo Alto Firewall Management:

• Understand and manage firewall policies and rules. SME-level expertise is not required, but understanding of Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls policies and rules is necessary.

Network Security:

• Familiarity with Pulse Secure and VPN technologies.
• Deploy and manage network security solutions, including ForeScout for posture modules.

Test Environment Development:

• Architect and build a comprehensive test environment to evaluate network configurations and updates.
• Replace outdated infrastructure and assist in the transition to cloud-based solutions.

Project Management:

• Use ServiceNow for ticketing and project management tasks. Experience with ServiceNow is a plus but not mandatory.

Documentation and Communication:

• Create detailed network architecture diagrams and documentation.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Vendor Management:

• Track vendor contracts, manage renewals, and oversee the end-of-life cycle for hardware and network equipment.

Qualifications:

• Security+ is strongly preferred, if not, they must be able to get it ASAP
• Extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies, especially Cisco Client and ICE.
• Understanding of Fortigate and Palo Alto firewalls policies and rules and VPNs.
• Knowledge of Pulse Secure and ForeScout (training can be provided).
• Strong technical skills in network architecture and design.
• Ability to create and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation.
• Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing/project management tools is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in building and managing test environments.
• Ability to manage vendor relationships and oversee hardware lifecycles.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in cloud migration projects.
• Familiarity with network security protocols and posture management.
