About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Network Leadership and Design: Architect and manage the deployment of network infrastructure for new office setups independently, without reliance on third-party vendors.
- Hands-On Technical Mastery: Perform physical networking tasks including cable running, wire splicing, network cable testing, and setting up WiFi heat maps and channel planning.
- Performance Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of network performance across all locations, implementing QoS and traffic shaping strategies to ensure optimal operation.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with ISPs, third-party networking vendors, and critical internal stakeholders such as compliance, security, and R&D teams to align network configurations with organizational needs.
- Team Leadership: Lead a small team of network professionals, acting as a technical architect and providing guidance and mentorship.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure the network adheres to all regulatory and security standards, coordinating with relevant departments to maintain compliance.
- Strategic Reporting: Regularly evaluate critical networking KPIs, report performance metrics to senior management, and recommend improvements.
- At least 5-8 years of experience in network engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership role within an enterprise environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Cisco technologies and familiarity with network infrastructure including corporate VPN and company-wide networking solutions.
- Demonstrable skills in physical networking tasks and advanced troubleshooting.
- Strong project management abilities with a track record of successfully leading network-related projects.
- Ability to work effectively with both internal stakeholders and external vendors to meet the strategic IT goals of the organization.
- Leadership skills with experience managing a small technical team.
- Strong analytical skills to regularly assess network performance and drive continuous improvement.
