The Network Engineer primary job is to design and maintain infrastructure within our organization to ensure systems are working both safely and correctly. The Network Engineer will also address network outages, and escalated end user issues, recommend enhancements to the existing network infrastructure and ensure that the required documentation is complete and up to date, including technical standards.
What you will do
Evaluate existing LAN/WAN infrastructure components and Plan the upgrades
Coordinate with Management on needed improvements or gaps.
Assist the other team members with network infrastructure on a day-to-day basis
Mentor the other team members to increase their knowledge.
Monitors the infrastructure to identify/resolve issues
Evaluate and tune all network performance on systems
Manage technology vendors
Maintains and updates network documentation in conjunction with other team members
Design, test, and inspect network systems
Coordinates, control and maintenance of network devices within the enterprise to ensure compatibility and integration with the enterprise strategies
Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
Provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded infrastructure performance
Establishes and maintains Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan and objectives related to LAN/WAN infrastructures
Performs/assigns equipment installation and configuration as required
24x7 availability and uptime of systems
All other duties as assigned
What you will bring
7 + years’ experience in a networking environment
Experience with Cisco switches/Routers.
Experience with Fortigate firewalls a plus.
Understanding of multiple routing protocols (Ospf, Bgp and etc)
System integration and Radius experience a plus
Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments
Effective problem-solving skills
Proven analytical skills
Detail oriented
Network Certifications are a plus
Ability to multitask
Part of a On-Call rotation
