Network Engineer

Job Title:Network Engineer

Client: Office of Contracting & Procurement(OC&P)

On behalf Oregon Health Authority (OHA)

Location: Oregon State Public Health Laboratory Headquarters.

Duration: 2 years

NOTE: This is an onsite position and required US citizen.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Network Architect:

• Work closely with the Network Architect to implement and optimize the designed network architecture.
• Develop a comprehensive list of required network equipment and tools, including cost estimates for procurement.
• Coordinate with EIS and DCS Network Engineering teams to procure and deploy network equipment efficiently
• Monitor network performance, identifying and addressing issues to ensure optimal network functionality.
• Provide prompt and effective troubleshooting for network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
  
  

Technical Skills:

Networking Technologies:

• High level of familiarity with various networking technologies, capable of troubleshooting network outages, switch failures, network performance issues, NIC issues, cabling problems, and TCP/IP configuration issues.
• Knowledge of WAN technologies such as routers, ATM, Frame Relay, etc.
  
  

Qualifications:

Hands-on Experience:

• Proven experience with network equipment such as routers, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
• Proficiency in using network monitoring tools and techniques to maintain network health and performance.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues quickly and efficiently.
  
  

Preferred Experience: Experience in network implementation within a public health or clinical laboratory setting is highly preferred.
