Job Description:

United Global Technologies (UGT) is seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Engineer to join our team at Fort Belvoir, VA. This role requires an active Secret Clearance or higher and will focus on supporting a critical network infrastructure within a secure environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Cisco networking, including routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls, with a strong emphasis on configuration, STIG compliance, patching, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cisco Networking: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, and VPNs (Global Protect). Ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Firewall Management: Administer and maintain Palo Alto firewalls, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
• Systems Engineering: Perform systems engineering tasks constituting 10-20% of the job, including server and network administration, patch management, and system updates.
• STIG Compliance: Implement and maintain Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure systems meet required security standards.
• Windows & Linux Support: Provide support for Windows systems and, where applicable, Linux environments.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on security, utilizing Security+ (or equivalent) certification knowledge to ensure compliance with IAT II standards.

Required Qualifications:

• Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance or higher.
• Networking Expertise: Proven experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, VPNs, and firewalls (Palo Alto).
• Certifications:
• Security Certification: Security+ (or equivalent) such as GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA Security.
• Cisco Certification: CCNA or CCNP certification is mandatory.
• Systems Experience: Familiarity with Windows systems is required; experience with Linux is a plus.
• Security Focus: Strong understanding of security principles, including patching, STIG compliance, and administration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Linux systems.
• Advanced Cisco certifications or specializations.
