Job Description

Role: Network Engineer

Location: Mt Laurel, NJ (4 Days onsite)

Ideal Candidate

  • 5-6 years exp in routing and switching
  • CCNA/Juniper is good to have, not required
  • OSLayer, basic understanding of OSPF, ISIS, routing protocols
  • No specific firewall exp, no security exp required

Day To Day

  • Joining meetings with partners, get info from there, share with engineers – once devices are ready to launch, launch them in network; help tools/database engineer progress
  • Launch activities will be day to day
  • This role is responsible for managing capacity at primary comcast location
  • No nightwork, mostly during day

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on IP router/switch/telephony customer premises equipment
  • Design, configure and deploy LAN and WAN network connections, hardware, software and communication links and services.
  • Optimize the network and systems services and troubleshoot any network performance issues.
  • Responsible for the service provision and monitoring of the network infrastructure to company standards.

Skills

  • Specific knowledge and 5 to 6 years experience with Cisco and Juniper routers
  • Knowledge of internetworking designs and their applications and routing
  • Solid knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 internetworking technologies
  • Experience with protocols
  • Extensive experience with Cisco switches and routers
  • Certifications such as (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
