Remote, preference for candidates local to Las Vegas, NV or Des Moines, IA

Responsibilities/Job Duties/Job Description/Qualifications:

Seeking a skilled NOC Engineer with expertise in network operations, system monitoring, and incident management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SolarWinds, network mapping, and virtual machines (VMs). Additionally, they should possess a strong understanding of server architecture, load balancers, and the ability to quickly identify, manage, and resolve network incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Maintain Network Infrastructure: Utilize SolarWinds and other monitoring tools to oversee the health, performance, and stability of the network. Proactively detect and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
  • Network Mapping and Documentation: Maintain and update network maps, ensuring accurate documentation of the network topology, connections, and infrastructure components.
  • Incident Management: Lead and participate in incident response activities. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related incidents swiftly and effectively. Document and communicate the status of incidents to relevant stakeholders.
  • Virtual Machines (VMs): Manage and monitor VMs, ensuring optimal performance and availability within the network environment.
  • Server and Load Balancer Management: Maintain and monitor servers and load balancers, ensuring that they are operating efficiently and are properly configured to support network operations.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other IT and network teams to address and resolve network issues, plan upgrades, and implement new technologies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on network performance, incident trends, and other key metrics. Analyze data to identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in network operations. Propose and implement improvements to network monitoring, incident management, and overall operations processes.


Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a NOC or similar role.
  • Proven experience with SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of network mapping and documentation.
  • Experience with virtual machines (VMs), servers, and load balancers.
  • CCNP certification or similar is highly preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and routing protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting.
