Heritage Auctions is on the lookout for a passionate Non-Sports Trading Card Specialist (Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Star Trek, Vintage, Music, Garbage Pail Kids). This role is pivotal in evaluating, authenticating, and conducting research on a diverse array of trading card collections that span characters, historical events, animated series, and cultural icons. The ideal candidate is someone with profound knowledge of the trading card realm, understanding market nuances, valuations, and the rarity of items. This Dallas-based position encompasses responsibilities such as acquiring consignments, fostering client relationships, managing leads, contributing to catalog production, and engaging in sales activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Appraisal & Authentication: Expertly assess the authenticity and value of non-sports trading cards, analyzing their condition, rarity, and market valuation.
- Cataloging & Inventory Management: Keep precise records of collections, ensuring detailed, accurate descriptions and valuations. Organize inventory for easy access and manage catalog content, including text and images, alongside press releases and promotional materials.
- Market Analysis: Stay ahead of market trends, tracking prices, and new releases to inform collection strategies and advice to clients.
- Client Consultation: Advise both novice and experienced collectors on how to cultivate and maintain their trading card collections, tailoring advice to current market trends and personal tastes.
- Acquisition & Client Expansion: Secure consignments through direct and indirect leads, enhance the client database, and travel as necessary for client engagement and property evaluation.
- Event & Auction Involvement: Act as a brand ambassador at various industry events, foster community engagement, and actively participate in auctions, handling inquiries and marketing auction lots.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a major auction house or as a commercial dealer is preferred, with at least 2 years specifically in non-sports trading cards.
- Knowledge & Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of non-sports trading cards (Singles, Sets, Packs, Boxes and Sheets), including authentication and grading. Exceptional research abilities to identify trends and find valuable cards. Outstanding communication skills are essential, along with multitasking, detail orientation, and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
