Office Engineer

Job Summary:

The Office Engineer (Civil Engineering) is responsible for providing technical support, overseeing project execution, and ensuring the successful implementation of construction and engineering projects. This role involves coordinating construction activities and performing inspections.


The Office Engineer will work closely with construction project managers and staff engineers to ensure projects are properly coordinated and meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent technical writing skills and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various environments.


Key Responsibilities:


1.Site Supervision and Management:

  • Work with project managers to oversee residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Ensure projects comply with industry standards, engineering principles, and customer specifications.
  • Supervise construction activities to ensure they are completed on time and within budget.


2.Maintenance, Inspections, and Technical Support:

  • Work with project engineers to conduct routine inspections of residential and commercial structures.
  • Diagnose and address issues with structures and provide effective solutions.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support related to civil engineering projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to structural integrity, materials, and construction methods.


3.Project Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure project success.


4.Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of construction activities, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Prepare technical reports and summaries for clients and management.
  • Document changes, updates, and upgrades to infrastructure and construction plans.


5.Customer Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction.


6.Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols during field operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, local building codes, and industry standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction or a similar role; preferably in commercial construction projects.
  • Certifications: B.S. Civil Engineering
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license.


Required Skills:

  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using civil engineering software and diagnostic tools (CAD, Primavera P6, Excel, Bluebeam, ClearCalcs)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Working Conditions:

  • Work involves travel to various construction and project sites.
  • Exposure to varying environmental conditions.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and wear protective gear as required.


Salary: $70,000-$80,000 (There is a bonus structure and percentage off each project)
