Position Summary

Builders Vision is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Accountant, to join the Finance & Accounting team and reporting to the Assistant Controller, to play a role in implementing best-in-class operating procedures, accounting, and reporting for a growing organization, and specifically the private foundation. The ideal candidate will be a discreet, self-driven professional with operational and financial accounting experience, and will be responsible for handling day-to-day operational, finance, and accounting activities including managing liquidity, financial accounts, and bill pay.

The Finance & Accounting function manages accounting and reporting, treasury, vendor maintenance, budgeting and cash forecasting, and capital allocation across all entities of our platform. The team currently consists of a Head of Finance & Accounting, Assistant Controller, Finance Operations Associate, Investment Accountant, and an Operations Accountant. This team works with individuals and teams across the company to support our mission.

  • Supports enterprise operations, accounting and bookkeeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and select project work.
  • Processes grants payments and supports accurate reporting of grant activity relative to approved budgets.
  • Administers investment transactions, including recording monthly earnings and losses for the endowment.
  • Administers accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Maintains general ledger, including completing regular close of entities, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Maintains organized financial records and work papers.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Supports annual audit of the private foundation and supports preparation of Form 990 with external tax provider.
  • Actively seek opportunities to provide structure and improve operations to support the office, including outsourced providers.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures and the documenting and monitoring of key internal control procedures.
  • Generate financial reports and analyze business and performance trends.
  • Assist the Head of Finance and Accounting and team members by overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.
  • In addition to the above accounting responsibilities, this role will also assist the Head of Finance and Accounting and team members with daily office operational tasks on a needed basis.


Qualifications Required For Your Success

  • Bachelor’s degree with a record of high achievement in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field (CPA a plus).
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct not required but preferred.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, asset managers, financial services organizations and/or family offices is a plus.
  • An accounting background with knowledge of investment partnerships and/or family office accounting a plus.
  • Technical accounting and financial reporting skills including the ability to aggregate, translate, and report on financial information; and to develop meaningful and effective financial reporting and forecasting processes, reports, and systems.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes would be beneficial.
  • Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and written.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity, trust, and confidentiality.
  • Stays organized and demonstrates the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
