The US Operations Associate will be responsible for providing operational support; Accounting, Payroll, HR, IT, Audit, Data, Receipting, Banking, Gift-in-Kind, Logistical support, etc. In addition, this role will be responsible for continually assessing our processes and procedures to ensure we’re operating in the most efficient manner, best allocating and stewarding our resources; people/time/money.


Breakdown of Time:

           Operational Leadership & Delivery:     80%

           Efficiencies:                                        20%    


Primary Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the US Executive Director provide leadership and counsel to all LIA-US operational functions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and provide leadership to contracted accounting relationships, support as necessary.
  • Implement HR systems in alignment/support of the US Executive Director
  • Lead, and oversee our IT relationship and all technology matters.
  • Research and deliver logistical support.
  • Assist other staff with external partner short-term trip logistics to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Consistently evaluate our processes to ensure we best steward our resources, make recommendations, and implement them accordingly.
  • Oversee compliance with non-profit status through annual State Registration Renewals, network relationships, and charity websites.
  • Oversee the recording of donations and receipting donors.
  • Streamlining and maintaining the usage of our CRM system for further efficiency.
  • Maintain accounts receivable records, communicate allocation updates to the Accountant, and follow up with the team on outstanding payments.
  • Coordinate with Accountant and CFO to supply documentation to External Auditor for annual audit.
  • In collaboration with the US Executive Director provide operational counsel to LIA-UK and LIA-Europe teams.
  • Other duties assigned/requested by the US Executive Director.

  • High energy and passion for the mission of LIA with a specific interest in Africa/Caribbean.
  • Innovative and creative approach to project creation, management, and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexible and adaptable style; an individual who can positively impact both strategic and tactical operational initiatives.
  • Collaborative, Hungry, Humble, Team Player.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
