Operations Research Analyst Level I

Axient is seeking an Operations Research Analyst Level I to join our Rapid Assessment team at the Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements in Washington DC.

The Headquarters of the United States Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategy, Integration and Requirements is responsible for analytic decision support to senior Air Force leaders; strategy development; operational concept development; operational challenge studies; operational/regional politico-military analysis; developing capability assessments; war and mobility planning support; requirements development; conducting net assessments; and Air Force Planning and Programming decision support of developing the Air Force of the future. Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) are required to support analysis across all phases of Air Force design to support the strategic planning and programming process: strategy development, force design, concept formulation; threat assessment, exercises, modeling and simulation and continuous feedback loops.

Description

What you will do...

  • Apply game theoretic and design methods to create or modify an exercise environment to test the value hypothesis, assumptions, and constraints. Test and experiment with the exercise environment to validate its effectiveness and suitability and train operators.
  • Recommend appropriate players from AFF, mission partners, and other relevant organizations to support the execution.
  • Where customized modeling and simulation tools are necessary/desired, provide subject matter expertise and oversight to lead tool development sprints.
  • Implement the recommendations of stakeholders from across the AF Analytic Community where appropriate.
  • Provide Strategy, Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (SPPBE) analytic support by developing force structure and resource allocation plans by integrating multiple Air Force planning inputs, strategic and fiscal guidance, and senior leader direction.
  • Conduct open source and classified research and analysis related to Air Force Strategy, Planning and Programming.
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative analysis on a wide range of relevant topics. Prepares bullet background papers, briefings, and decision aids using strategic planning tools as required.
  • Assists in task and workflow management for Software
  • Applications and Models.
  • Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
  • Collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, service, or products.
  • Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.


Skills You Will Need...

Required Experience

Under five (5) years of experience in operations research or technical field.

Bachelor’s degree in operations research, mathematics, engineering, or related field.

Clearance Required: This position requires a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility.
