Scope of Position

EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company’s PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.

R esponsible to coordinate with Valuation and Analytics, Regional Development teams, Project Management, Asset Management, and Operations & Management on projects, products, and pricing, as well as strategic direction and competitive issues facing the Company . Assist and support other OPM members in the assigned region in marketing EDF Renewable Energy’s wind, solar, storage and other projects to existing clients , and support negotiations of various offtake structures . These issues may involve working with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business and will require evaluating fundamental issues and learning the functional area s , business strategies, and the Company’s goals related to EDFR’s key customers .

Responsibilities

  • Support the develop ment of the Origination and Power Marketing strategy and business plan to secure renewable energy sales to achieve EDFR’s overall goals .
  • Conduct analysis and diligence to support contract relationships and negotiations with potential offtakers .
  • Review and evaluate requests for bids (RFPs/RF I s) within the region and work closely with the team to respond with proposals, pricing, term sheets, issues lists , redlined definitive documents, etc sufficient to engage the end user and start the negotiation process.
  • Assist and support n egotiat ions with offtakers , including PPAs, DBS, virtual PPAs, and other agreements.
  • Read IRPs, market reports, evaluate demand, and assist in creating strategies for EDFR’s identified key customers.
  • Provide market intelligence feedback to EDFR’s GSP Development team and VP, Strategic Initiatives to inform EDFR’s development and acquisition strategy.
  • Work successfully with Development, Valuation and Analytics, Transmission Services, Project Finance, Asset Management, Legal and Implementation, as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Manager Level:

Education/Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline and a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
  • A graduate degree is preferred .
  • 5 years work minimum, 1-3 yrs in US power, finance, trading, origination, sales & marketing, or comparable experience is required .
  • Previous experience working in a commercial negotiation environment with excellent customer-focused, commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills, is preferred .
  • Solar or storage development or power marketing experience is preferred.

Education/Experience:

Senior Manager Level:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline and a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
  • A graduate degree is preferred .
  • 5 years work minimum, minimum 3-5 yrs in US power, finance, trading , origination, sales & marketing, or comparable experience is required .
  • Previous experience working in a commercial negotiation environment with excellent customer-focused, commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills, is preferred .
  • Solar or storage development or power marketing experience is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Unparalleled honesty and integrity.
  • Requires basic knowledge of the power and renewable energy market dynamics. Preference for wind , solar and battery experience in US competitive wholesale electricity markets as well as vertically integrated markets.
  • Requires the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy.
  • Experience supporting pricing, RFP responses, or renewable energy deals is preferred .
  • Skills and knowledge with a combination of renewable energy technologies is preferred .
  • Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills is required .
  • Ability to quickly step into new tasks and adapt to new circumstances in a dynamic environment.
  • Successfully operating in a geographically dispersed organization is a plus.
  • Strong personal relationships and reputation in the power and/or renewable energy industry.

Physical Requirements - Working Conditions :

Approximately 80 % of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs, Salesforce, Tableau, etc ), phones, and general office equipment. Approximately 20 % of time is spent outside of the office with customers and attending various industry conferences and internal/external meetings .

This Role’s Annual Base Salary Range Is:

Manager - between $102,000 and $145,000

Sr.Manager - between $115,000 and $164,000
