Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned expert in paper packaging with extensive experience in enhancing barrier properties through advanced techniques such as polymer lamination, chemical treatments, and other innovative processes. As a Paper Packaging Barrier Technology Specialist, you will be instrumental in our R&D efforts, providing practical insights and expertise to help develop cutting-edge solutions for real-world challenges in the paper packaging industry.


Key Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with the R&D team to develop and optimize sustainable paper packaging materials

with high barrier properties against water vapor, oxygen, water, and oil/grease.

● Provide expert guidance on the selection and application of polymers, coatings, and chemical

additives to achieve desired barrier properties while maintaining sustainability goals.

● Conduct research and analysis on current and emerging technologies in the field of paper

packaging, including paper, paperboard, and molded fiber.

● Offer innovative practical solutions and recommendations to overcome technical challenges

related to barrier performance, material compatibility, and process scalability.

● Assist in the design, testing, and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet industry

standards and customer requirements.

● Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and sustainability initiatives to inform R&D

strategies.

● Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and documentation to

communicate findings and progress to stakeholders.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Science,

or a related field.

● Proven experience (5+ years) in paper packaging development and bringing products to

market in industrial settings, with a focus on barrier technologies and sustainable materials.

● Strong knowledge of synthetic and natural polymer chemistry, lamination processes, and

chemical treatments in paper packaging.

● Experience working with paper, paperboard, and molded fiber in a packaging context.

● Experience working with a variety of unique polymers, additives, and fillers to hit targets.

● Ability to provide actionable insights and recommendations for real-world applications.

● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a

team.

● Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both

technical and non-technical audiences.
