Hamilton Miller & Birthisel, a litigation defense firm, seeks several experienced paralegals with 3-5 years functioning in an insurance defense capacity with specific experience in premises/bodily injury, and first party property. HMB continues to grow so we are looking to fill various full-time positions with a potential hybrid work environment. There is room for YOU!

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and a great multitasker.
• Knowledgeable with computer programs: Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook
• Ability to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record billing entries.
• Knowledgeable in state & federal court rules
• Prior trial experience is a plus.

Duties:

• Locate factual witnesses.
• Draft witness and exhibit lists
• Ensure that the case documents are accurately organized.
• Identify and contact experts, prepare hearing and trial notebooks, and assist in trials.
• Perform initial case investigations by gathering facts & records and drafting pleadings/discovery (interrogatories, request for production)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 + per year

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred)
• Paralegal: 3-5 years with insurance defense background
