The School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Vermont State University, Department of Nursing, invites applications for a Part-Time teaching position on our Castleton campus for Fall 2024 (August 26 - December 13, 2024).

Part Time Faculty - Nursing - NUR 4045L - Clinical Judgement in Adult Health - Simulation & Clinical Course Oversight Castleton Campus - 1 credit - Hybrid

This course builds upon the nursing knowledge gained in previous couses in the care of the adult patient. Through the integration of liberal arts, natural and social science courses and the evidence-based knowledge of human systems in the adult population, the student will expand their knowledge to inform clinical judgment. Through classroom discussion, students will utilize case studies, scenarios and in-class activities to synthesize assessment data and patient preferences. This will enable the student to develop a list of health priorities, develop a plan of care, discuss implementation of that care, and recognize the need for ongoing patient evaluation. Through simulation experiences in this senior-level course, the student will serve as a role model and mentor to support the growth of other students, while simultaneously strengthening their use of the nursing process, as well as their skills of clinical reasoning, clinical judgment and person-centered care of diverse populations.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a Master's degree in Nursing or related field. Teaching experience in secondary school or college is a plus. An active unencumbered Vermont RN licensure or eligibility for an unencumbered Vermont license required. A valid driver's license is required.

Salary

Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
