Part-Time Physical Therapist

Activities (most critical to least critical)

  • Performs physical therapy evaluations of client functioning levels, plans short- and long- term goals toward improving/restoring independence and physical function
  • Applies diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests
  • Implements treatment to clients to relieve pain and/or restore function to maintain maximum performance
  • Maintains clinical documentation and progress notes. Submits all required paperwork in a timely manner according to ExpertCare policy
  • Periodically reports to the physician on the client’s treatment, response and profess and assists physician in determining any necessary changes in the treatment program
  • Instructs clients and their families in the use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.)
  • Instructs and familiarizes, as necessary, the client and pertinent family members with all aspects of the client’s total physical therapy program
  • Attends therapy staff meetings and in-service presentations
  • Participates in staff and referring organization development activities
  • Prepares an assessment of the client’s condition and periodic evaluations and summaries, develops a plan of care and problem list, and writes clinical/progress notes on the date of the visit and incorporates same in the client record
  • Participates in Annual Person-Centered Planning meetings and Periodic Status Review meetings to provide insight and update on treatment planning and implementation
  • Assumes responsibility for supervising the Physical Therapy Assistant at least every 30 days

  • Current certification with APTA
  • Valid state driver’s license

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience working as a Physical Therapist in a health care setting
  • 1+ year experience in a supervisory role
  • Minimum 6 months experience utilizing an EMR for documentation
