Job Title: Part-time Zoom Ballet Pianist

Department: Education & Training

Reports To: School Pianist Supervisor

Compensation: $41.61 per hour

Job Purpose: To accompany ballet classes on Zoom

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of basic ballet class exercises and ability to play suitable repertoire to accompany exercises
  • Prepares music as requested
  • Selects repertoire for class

Years And Type Of Related Experience Required

  • 3 years, minimum, of accompanying ballet classes
  • Strong knowledge of classical ballet repertoire

Professional/Technical Competencies

  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with administrative staff, faculty, and others by building rapport, listening and responding to their needs and being easy to approach
  • Develops expertise in ballet terminology and quality of movement and uses this knowledge to support the teacher by playing appropriate music for the demonstrated exercise
  • Demonstrates tact in all interactions and ability to work on a team
  • Continues to practice piano and demonstrates continued technical proficiency
  • Consistently offers appropriate creative and innovative repertoire for class
  • Is punctual and prepared for daily class

Special Equipment Used

  • Access to a dedicated space appropriate for accompanying live ballet classes
  • Own or have access to an electronic keyboard and required software/computer to share sound via Zoom

  • Legal resident of California or Oregon
